Has anyone considered getting Marisol as a substitute for Josefina? DD doesn't want Josefina because her cousin has Josefina so I thought this might be a way to go around the issue. (Of course, they both have Nellie and this isn't an issue, but somehow Josefina bothers her).
Or am I looking for an excuse to get Marisol?

I have thought of the same thing. I wish they had used a different head mold then I would have more of an excuse to have both....LOL...
I have thought I would like to have one or the other but not both. I do lean towards Marisol becuase I love her skin tone and lighter hair colour.

I've suggested before that Marisol could be a sister for Josefina. I believe the illustrations in the Josefina books show Clara as being lighter haired than Josefina. Maybe your daughter would like a Clara doll? The clothes and accessories for Josefina could be used still, but then your daughter and her cousin would be able to play sisters with their dolls.
If you really wanted to Marisol could be Josefina, but the hair really is a different color and it might be strange.

Josefina has lighter hair to begin with in the illustrations. Ask your DD what she thinks or just get Marisol for yourself! If Marisol were a regular ordinary girl of today face mold/coloring I would probably consider the same thing.

My Marisol wears josefina's clothes and she looks gorgeous. I'm going to try to post pictures soon, as soon as I learn how to use my brother's camera...

My Marisol may just double as one of Josefina's sisters.... I hadn't thought of that yet!

Maybe I am looking for an excuse. But I love everyone's opinions on these sorts of decisions.

Ummm.. that COULD work, but isn't Josefina lighter than Marisol? She looked lighter to me in person!
